Flaxseeds

Strong evidence

Active compounds

ALA (plant omega-3)Lignans (phytoestrogens)Soluble fiber

Targeted cancers

prostatebreastcolon

Anti-cancer actions

  • 30g/day of ground flaxseeds slows prostate tumor growth by 30 to 40% (Duke University)
  • Lignans reduce the harmful hormonal activity that drives cancer growth
  • May act on tumor angiogenesis
  • Women with omega-3-rich tissues show significantly lower risk of metastasis (Prof. Bougnoux)
  • Flax bread: blood sugar rise 30% lower than white bread — reduces pro-tumor IGF

How to prepare it

Always grind seeds (in a coffee grinder) — whole seeds pass through without being absorbed. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 but low in lignans. Store flaxseed oil in the refrigerator in an opaque bottle, max 3 months.

Recommended dosage

30g per day of ground seeds (Duke study dosage). Do not exceed 45g/day (digestive risk for sensitive intestines).

⚗️ Food synergies

These foods potentiate the effects of Flaxseeds

How to prepare it

Ground seeds mixed into soy milk or organic yogurt. Sprinkle over morning cereals or in a fruit salad (nutty taste). Flax bread instead of white bread.

Important warnings

Always grind seeds — whole they pass through without being absorbed. Flaxseed oil: very sensitive to oxidation, never heat, refrigerate.
